Monthly Meetup

Between May 2017 and July 2018 we held a regular meeting on the second Tuesday of each month 7.30pm - 9.00pm at the community building overlooking the lake not far from where we live in Woking.

Inline with the new approach and teaching, and casting the net as wide as possible, this was entitled 'Living in the Now, Mindfulness, Spiritual Development'. I was keen to avoid a meeting discussing (which usually means debating intellectually) enlightenment as a standalone subject, so we left this word out of any and all description relating to the meetings, though it was still talked about nonetheless.

The aim was to teach those present how to consciously face and dissolve emotion. After all, the question as to what enlightenment is (the meaning or experience behind the word) is pretty irrelevant if one is still struggling with the circumstances of their life.

In 2018 it was felt a monthly meeting wasn't really working and we closed the group, looking instead at opportunities to give one-off talks at various venues.
